One Love is what it is all about

One Love, from 2pm-6pm on Waitangi Day is a free afternoon community concert being held at Thompson Park on Marine Parade. It will feature DJs from Christchurch including Dubble Trubble from Central Records, Nacoa, Nazarite and others. It is a great chance to have a picnic at the beach. The Vegetarian Society will be there with vege BBQ too.Organised annually by Massive Productions this will be the 8th, or is it 9th year we have held the gig. Must be 9th as we usually have held them at the ampitheatre at the pier but used Thompson Park one year because the pier was being built and the old sound shell had been demolished. We have decided to go back to Thompson Park as there are beautiful trees to shelter under (don't want to sun fry our audience)and there is a fantastic playground for the kids and a skatepark as well. Bring your frisbee, friends, picnic, togs (the beach is across the road and mellow vibes. We do not encourage excessive alcohol comsumption so leave the crates at home. For the line up and pictures from previous years check out www.massivenz.com.

It is also Bob marley's birthday so we usually go for a reggae feel to the music. Anyone community groups who are interested in getting involved, wanting a stall etc, please get in touch via the Massive website.
